There is no evidence of wrongdoing by either the former vice president or his son.

There is a video circulating showing Biden bragging that he was able (when he was VP) to pressure Ukraine to fire the prosecutor who was investigating the alleged wrongdoing.

No. You're regurgitating discredited garbage. Biden pressured Ukraine into firing a prosecutor because he was hardly investigating anything. That video is, for your purposes, useless.

SerranoToday  03:40 pm JST

Biden: "I didn't know anything about Hunter's business dealings in Ukraine. I just figured he went to Ukraine for cheap hookers and cocaine."

Well up to your usual infantile standard.

"Romney savaged Trump during the 2016 campaign, calling him a"con man" who was unfit for the presidency, but the two men later set aside their differences."

I like how Trump teased Romney, inviting him to dinner and getting his hopes up that he would be picked for Secretary of State, hehe

Romney had a lucky escape.

One thing can be certain. North Korea will not get the capability to hit the United States with intercontinental nuclear tipped missiles while Trump is president.

Trump would give Kim the US nuclear launch codes in exchange for some dirt on the Bidens and permission to build a Trump tower in Pyongyang.

I like it that the media are now pointing out when Trump just makes things up that aren't actually evidentiary based, and are just conspiracy theories.

The lack of evidence of any wrongdoing by the Bidens is mentioned in numerous articles I've seen. You would think the Trumpophiles might start to get the message but I think their their egos will collapse if they accept they've just bought a lot of worthless spin.

I'm sure they'll gladly hand over the info to the committee because they are innocent, and that's what innocent people with nothing to hide would do.

Exactly. They might as well play along and give the House what it wants, because the Republicans in the Senate will see the evidence for what it is and vote to exonerate the President, right? Surely Trump is safe - unless there's something so damning they think it might even convince enough GOP Senators to break ranks for a conviction.

But it would be amusing to see Trump's lawyers try the "but Obama and Clinton..." defense in court that his online fans are always coming out with. Good luck with that.

liberal media was so excited yesterday over Bernie and his total that was 1/5 of that.

AttilathehungryToday  10:05 am JST

The whole problem is that the Hunter Biden issue is very easy for most people to understand. "Useless son of famous politician gets sweet job for no reason other than his name and access to power". It's clearcut and visceral and strikes a chord in most people.

That's hardly the same kind of thing as the criminal wrongdoing that Trump and Giuliani have been alleging. Moreover the American people can't mind too much as they seem to tolerate Trump's nepotism.

And yes, GOP senators will march in lockstep- that's expected of politicians in general. But not of news media and journalists. Maybe I'm naive, but I would expect a reasonable range of opinions from journalists.

I would expect politicians to break with their party leadership if they and the constituents who voted for them had markedly different views. But it wouldn't bother you too much if some Republicans Senators privately thought Trump was guilty but followed their leaders and voted to exonerate him anyway?

AttilathehungryToday  09:30 am JST

Hey, at least FoxNews can HAVE a civil war. Most other networks march in lockstep to the beat of the same drum.

As to the impeachment investigation, it will be yet another waste of time. Assuming the House can actually pass an impeachment bill, it will die in the Senate.

Because the Republican Senators will march in lockstep to the beat of the same drum?

The only concrete result I can see is the absolute death of Joe Biden's candidacy. No way he can survive any investigation of his and his son's activities.

I don't rate his chances of winning the nomination or the presidency all that highly but there isn't going to be any investigation. I know Trump apologists are desperate to try to draw attention towards Biden but it's a waste of time.

If America "goes Socialist" it must be because that's what people are voting for in congressional elections. I thought you were all for "the will of the people." You can't stop preaching about it when other countries are involved but I suppose it's not all that great when it's your own country?

Before the usual pro-Trump parrots start squawking about the Bidens:

Hunter Biden served on the board of a Ukrainian gas company at the same time his father was leading the Obama administration's diplomatic dealings with Kyiv. There has been no evidence of wrongdoing by either of the Bidens.

So to answer any of the usual predictable questions about when they're going to get investigated like Trump: never.
